Travel to Peru
 
Travellers will make their own arrangements to fly to Cusco via Lima. From Cusco onwards until your return flight to Lima, we will be responsible for all travel arrangements……
 
Arrival in Peru  
Welcome to Peru, the third largest country in South America, and to Lima its capital city. This nation was home to the powerful Inca civilization, which fought the Spaniards for control of the area from the 16th into the 19th century. Lima (elevation 411 ft) was founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535.
 
Day 1  
Arrival in Cusco - preferably on flight LP∑.. - altitude (10,750 ft). Cusco was the capital of the Inca Empire and is considered by many Quechua peoples (native Peruvians) to be the spiritual centre of the world.
Welcome briefing, presentation to the Shamans. Lunch in Cusco and transfer to Pisac, Overnight in Hotel.
 
Day 2  
After breakfast in the hotel, Bernardina and Sebastian, two of the native shamans who will be working with us, will run a fire ceremony in the Pisac Inca ruins and terraces. The ruined temples command panoramic views of the sharp granite mountains. Visit the local market of Pisac where you can test your bargaining skills with the locals and enjoy one of the best textile markets in the Andes, where the merchants are as colourful as their products ! Free afternoon. Individual Healing Sessions available with shamans in the evening. Overnight in the hotel.
 
Day 3  
We will catch an early morning train to Aguas Calientes the setting off point for your visit to the famous City of Macchu Picchu. Set in the saddle of a mountain 1,000 feet above the Urubamba River. Machu Picchu remained "lost" in jungle undergrowth, until it was rediscovered by American explorer, Hiram Bingham, in 1911. Evening Ceremony at the ruins and overnight in hotel.
 
Day 4  
Early morning meditation in the ruins of Machu Picchu. Lunch and back to Cusco by train in the afternoon. Overnight in Cusco.
 
Day 5  
In the morning we will travel to Pummarca for a water ceremomy with our shamans. Free afternoon in Cusco. Overnight in hotel.
 
Day 6  
Morning Tour of Cusco and free afternoon in the city.
 
Day 7  
Morning visit Sacsayhuaman and a wonderful ceremony in the beautiful house of Alfredo, a local shaman. Afternoon visit to Ollantaytambo with some free time to explore this most attractive town beside the famous Inca temple. Overnight in Cusco.
 
Day 8  
Free morning in Cusco to finalise shopping and sight seeing. Lunch and transfer to airport for flight to Juliaca and on to Puno. Overnight in Puno.
 
Day 9  
 
7.30 am. we set off in our boat to the floating islands of the Uros on Lake Titicaca where we can meet the people and witness a way of life that has been unchanged for centuries. From there we head to Taquile Island on the lake. Lunch and free afternoon to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the island and the Lake. Optional meditation session.
 
Evening ceremony with Gregorio, an elder and shaman, who is in charge of the offering to the Mother Earth for the whole community. Overnight with host families on the island.
 
Day 10  
Breakfast and a walk to the island’s only village and on to the harbour. A short boat ride will take us to an idyllic beach for a soothing meditation followed by a climb to the community of Huayllano for lunch. After lunch we travel by boat to Amantani Island where we will again stay with host families and sample the customs and food of these lovely people. In the evening Pedro , the local shaman will perform a special ceremony for us.
 
Day 11  
At 6.00 am we will climb to the Sacred temple of Pachamama and back to have the breakfast with our hosts.
 
10.30 am. Relaxing boat trip back to Puno. Lunch and free afternoon.
 
Day 12  
Transfer to the Juliaca airport. Enjoy the landscape and a final sense of connection with this wonderful country before continuing on to the airport to transfer to Lima.
 
We will be offering a range of special journeys each year which we will plan and organise for you in a highly professional manner.

Sharing twin room accommodation with optional one night in Macchu Picchu Pueblo, Agua Calientes - highly recommended! : £1810 per person
